Enough

Enough

A Poem by Allie Miranda

How often did
Fatigue and depression
Trump me?

(Your only child,
Mind you)
I built patience waiting
On a stone wall
For your car to drive up.

Deep breaths,
Repressed anger.

Years later I cry at night.
Still waiting
For a timely arrival.

"You don't know what
Its like to lose your mother."

Sure i do,
Except instead of death's closure
I'm left with resentment,
Fury.

"Why was i never enough?"
