On A Day Like Any Other
On a day like any other, with not a cloud in the sky, the sun resplendent and grinning, and no hint of lamentation in the air. I unduly found myself in the company of misery, an unexpected, uninvited and unwelcome visitor. In my anger, I scolded her IV the disrupting intrusion into my personal space. As if II antagonise me even further, she remained struck dumb throughout the whole ordeal and did not mutter a single word. Infuriated I threw my hands in the air and bellowed, ‘Why are you here’?, and ‘What do you want’? ‘Before you unhinged me with your unreasonable presence, I was comfortable in my mind, walking in the wide open spaces, contented with trepidation of little account, and I did not crave nor wish IV anything. Now all you have managed II do is fluster the apple cart and brand yourself a bad apple.’ Angrily opening the doors II my mind, I demanded that she vacate my personal space with immediate effect. A moment of dead silence was hastily replaced by a kettle whistling, which also clumsily disguised the uncomfortable undertone and one-sided conversation. Sensing my anger and seeing that I was in no mood II compromise, as quietly as she came she was gone. Plus the displeasure intruded upon my usual etiquette of offering visitors a cup of tea. The cautionary tale, be alert or attentive. Misery is a devious or roguish devil, who can call on you on a day like today. Give her no excuse or alibi II disrupt your current state. © 2024 altIIneoAuthor's Note
