Saturnine

Saturnine

A Poem by altIIneo
"

Saturnine, a lament of love undone, explores the quiet devastation of abandonment, where vows dissolve, dreams fracture, and the soul remains haunted by absence.

"

Saturnine

Shattered love,

shattered hearts,

vows undone and dreams unmade,

You bequeathed all this to me.

Riven skies,

waning effervescence,

lullabies to silence lost,

and sleep by sorrow haunted.

In this way, you've forsaken me.

No poet’s breath from thy fair lips was borne,

Nor sonnets sweet did you avow.

You ungraciously fade away from my contumacious dreams.

And with thee, the flutter of my soul was stolen.

The final two lines here left a mark. Lovely poetic offering, particularly the final stanza.
