Her river runs deep

Her river runs deep

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Weathered on the surface, love
Heavy the terrain
Of ex lovers, past
Etched deep on her heart.

Below the surface, hot
Deep crevasses, large;
Life, love, still strong, beats.
Hidden from view.

Her river of love, deep
Meanders through gorges,
Canyons, eroding the doubts
Of lover's spent.
A heart slowly recovers.

Her cliffs of isolation, pain
Reminders of love;
Fossils of lover's past
With her tears now,
Crystallised deposits;
Embedded in heart, walls.

Moistened by waves
Of emotions, tears
Lapping her shores
Of her heart, soft.

Lovers, lasting memories
Through time, journeys;
Hers, remain still deep .
Embedded, while her
River of love runs strong.
Forever more, believing...
