It was I!A Poem by andrew mitchell
Who was that
That kissed the Heart so tender Leaving drops of My nectar, honey From footprints, soft? What was that That caressed The senses, a buzzing Hungry for more, Awakened? Who was that That touched a heart Now craving more, Addicted? Who was that That pieced my heart Now not moving, So deep? Who was that Who stole my heart No ransom, empty Bleeding. Left? Who tickled my fancy Right under my nose In broad day light, so sunny? "It was I.... For brazen am I When you are.... Undressed. open." "So why did you leave me For another and another? Was I not good enough?" "The same reason You will take many a lover Undressed, open. I just got there first." Said the bee to the flower.
