The Coronation!

The Coronation!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

 The Coronation!
He could not believe his eyes
Tossed, in the air, a parade.
The crowd lining the street
Cheered, applauded, waved.
Jubilant was the scene, towards
A simple green Grasshopper.
He smiled, saluted
The roar so loud
Carried by ants
No longer alone. Important!
He was now King, he thought.
Meanwhile, the Thai ants
Flown in by Ant Airways
At the ant Colosseum
Had the fire basket ready
With selected  ant herbs
They waited, excitedly.
While grasshopper rejoiced.
Still in dis-belief.
Cherished by the masses
A fried banquet
Would be soon served,
Him.
If only the Grasshopper
Had watched last week
The Wicker Man movie
Starring Christopher Lee.

and thus, he became dinner and a martyr to the cause of all grasshoppers world wide and perhaps will be sainted sometime in the near future...mmm, probably not...there is a lesson here: be wary of the motives of those who adorn you with accolade...clever and entertaining, my friend
