You can't say that!

You can't say that!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

You can't say that!
Stuffy the contest
invites only
noses turned up,
door closed.
I want to give my awards
to my friends.
You can't write that!
It's the way it works!
Schh!
The establishment knows!
Members only!
Oops! Who said that?
Biased!
Course not!
It's for everyone....
invites only!
Sorry everyone!
Just bad, bad thoughts!
I had no control!
Naughty! Naughty!
Monty Python thoughts!
Go to your room!
You bad, bad thought!
Apologize!
No! It's fraud!
In fact its corruption!
You can't say that!
It's a club!
No! you can't enter!
It's invites only!
But I want a medal!
I know I know!
It's a good poem!
But no! You can't
Mr John Cleese!
You are not their friends!
INVITES ONLY!
But.........
Oh! Bugger off!

Opss !!!!!
I couldnt help but think of the bbc when I read this. You, the up and comer trying to break into the establishment and them all hiding in offices with the lights off until you go awau with your fancy new ideas.
Well, in reality you were Basil, not John :)

Yes you might be right with Basil!. Thank you!
Haha another splendid poem that I have had the pleasure to read, Mr. Mitchell. Now I must admit that it is a habit that I read at least one poem a day from you. It is always nice to have a good laugh which your poems provide :) Thank you very much for sharing. I look forward to reading more!

You're welcome
words, by invitation only...we want only good poems to enter...

love the Cleese reference...ah Bugger off...used to watch Monty Python's Flying Circus...

this made me smile....thinking of the window...and a word going up saying it had a complaint...but the person at the window telling the word "this is not complaints, it's arguments..."
