The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The Invisible Man
There was no scientific experiment
he knew of
that he participated in
which went horribly wrong.
No Hulk, Spiderman, the Fly,
Dr.Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
And yet, something was amiss.
Walking through crowds
sitting on the tram
to family, friends,
being at work
he felt invisible.
Nothing!
He never liked what he saw in the mirror
just an image that's all.
Still, he was here.
On reaching out
he tried...
but was just
a point in the distance.
 Everyone was just too busy
there was no time to be loved.
sad.......

Read this just after reading 'where did my confidence go.'

Not to be even noticed, how awful that must be.

Thank you Beccy for dropping in!
Yes, it is sad and lonely to feel invisible. By nature, we are social creatures, and we need and crave that interaction to validate and acknowledge our existence.

Great piece.
