In our beginnings ...

In our beginnings ...

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In our beginnings,
Gladiators we fought
as Gods we loved.
Once pillars of strength,
standing together proud,
we now lie in ruins, buried;
time triumphed again,
settling the score.

time always wins in the end...we fight out of necessity, we win, and then we fight either for fun or just to rule everything and everyone.

and then as you so aptly say in this poem...we lie in ruins...

This reminds me of William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition" History repeats itself...and you wrote it so perfectly. I love this, Andrew!
