The crowd said jump.

The crowd said jump.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The crowd said jump.
His thoughts slowly trickled, joining
many thoughts foreign
flowing mainstream,
the pool, they gather;
the talk busy.
Any Ideas? Any volunteers? Anyone?
On who will be brave
to take the jump, the leap;
the waterfall, the edge.
Christopher Columbus!
How 'bout you?
The  hush descends,
silence cuts deep
of sounds unheard;
water rushing.
What's out there?
Okay! I'll do it! said he.
The crowd roared.
"Jump!"
" Just Jump!'
On circumnavigating
the world going
round and round
in circles, I found,
I lost the edge!
Signed:
Christopher Columbus.

A modern write about an old time. Sort of free verse with a changing flow. Interesting piece.
