The imposter

The imposter

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The imposter.
They tried to pull
wool over his eyes;
the cover up!
To show they were bright,
intelligent not followers.
Not realising the plan
wasn't going to work.
for known behold....
he wasn't a sheep,
he was a goat.
In the end,
resigning to the fact,
he'd become their leader;
the fox in disguise, smiled,
having plenty for dinner.

life can be tricky and all is not what it seems when it comes to humans ... animals are so much more straight forward ... even those with chameleon capabilities ;)

so true thank you EN
he mask falls as he feasts on the gullible. I wonder what or who this could be about. The list is too long to type, although politicos, bankers and all other types of awful come to mind. One thing's for sure, I'll be the one lying there wondering how I got on the menu :)

An old old tale with a poetic flare. Well achieved is the intention of the write, I believe.

I don't know of of this old tale David I'm intrigued now! lol
oh this definitely could be some of our politicians..."having plenty for dinner and smiling"

but i would like to see those folks become like the character in Mr. Sardonicus...who had his awful face transformed to normal, but couldn't open his mouth to eat.
