On the couch.

On the couch.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

On the couch.
The indignation
   of being
stripped bare,
left him cold
on the couch.
 On his notes,
the psychiatrist
    scribbled
  the patient
seems agitated.

Mine never write anything down, which was good because then he forgot half the stuff I accidentally let slip!
This would be hilarious if there were not a horribly painful, or at least awkward, truth rippling beneath it.
In a perfect world, we could lay bare our inmost thoughts and emotions with our mate, and remain unconditionally loved and accepted. Because I don't really believe psychiatrists have a repertoire of cures, they simply listen (and can't repeat what you say)
This is a perfectly written satire.

yes, those therapists surely undress us...and it feels alone and cold, because they do not reciprocate...it is totally one-sided.
