A life's journey.

A life's journey.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

A life's journey.
When the high
meets the low,
diverting
I stopped;
breaking down,
no road.
Life's downturn.
Taking a bend
led to a no through road;
Starting over,
a small road
coming across
a cul de sac, memories.
Building.
I set off.
How the the roads
crisscrossed in my making.
Living the low road not easy,
getting to the high road harder still
with the hum of the miles behind me
I'm getting on the freeway.
A life's journey
still driving,
behind lay memories,
the end I don't know.
.

If we ever knew the journey that life throws at us before the event, we'd all say no thanks and wait for the next one to come along. No matter the path or journey we find ourselves on, it rarely takes us from A to B, unless it is through the diversion of J, P and Q.
Still, it never tires of throwing us curve balls and is rarely, if ever straightforward.
Nicely captured Andrew.

A cruise ....... so i can see the world and listen to music .... go dancing :)
These roads of life, *sigh* they're never what they look like when we start out. ^_^

I like the way you referred to a cul de sac as the memories. That's exactly what they feel like to me too. I guess the older we get the more dead end roads we will have collected. Oh, sorry, that sounds so depressing doesn't it? I live in hope there might be a few good roads leading to even better ones!
