The class of.....

The class of.....

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The class of .....
Where once I stood....
smiling, proud,
shadows lie.

The class of 1970, grade 5.

In the course of life
moments gathered
became multi stacked.
Just select...
Today, overcrowded I find,
new moments replace
long term memories.

Where faces with names
of yesteryear become
fuzzy, blurred, forgotten............. time.

All I see is......tall weeds growing,
memories crumbling...... erased, gone.

My childhood rides
on hollow echoes, along
empty paths, kids laughter played.

Memories rest
on blank walls
where shadows lie

and a photo of faces, lost.

I took it you found a Yearbook and took a few minutes to re-view the past. We get nostalgic as we age...and look for memories until we NEED to forget them...

thank you jacob for your words
How true. So many of the people I went to school with are all ready gone. Some in wars, many girls with breast cancer, etc. Just old memories on old pages. Valentine
