Managing the unimaginable.

Managing the unimaginable.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Managing the unimaginable.
There was a tapping
at my shoulder,
but I didn't
believe in ghosts.
There was a bullet
lodged in my brain
but I didn't
believe in violence.
There was a knife
through my heart
but I didn't
believe in pain.
There was a silence
on your leaving,
but I didn't
believe in loss.
There was a love
 gone missing
but I didn't believe,
you broke my heart.
But you did.
