My spine seemed fixed.

My spine seemed fixed.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

My spine seemed fixed.
I knew my autobiography was real
as was life,
when my spine
seemed fixed,
the pages oozing blood
of flesh spilt, bruised
from years of battles,
with the stark revelation;
was this my epitaph?
Twas an eerie sensation
seeing my pages turn
by themselves, swiftly
to the bookmark
marking the end,
with the realization that....
my chapter was not extended.

This poem was very intriguing. I loved the sense of confusion and uneasiness embedded within each line. I was truly immersed. A wonderful poem, great work.
