Mirror mirror on the wall! Who's the cruelest of them all?

Mirror mirror on the wall! Who's the cruelest of them all?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Mirror mirror on the wall! Who's the cruelest of them all?
Life was never as cruel,
as was.....
putting the heart
in the trust of others,
and having the love destroyed.

Thank you Ken just a play on words:)
This is a tad confusing but only because I see the speaker as the one who has been wronged yet the title implies that they were the instigator of the deception/cruelty.
Most likely my reading pre-coffee.
