A peal of bells fades.

A peal of bells fades.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

A peal of bells fades.
There was not
a twinkle in your eye,
as there was in the sky,
nor a fast beat from the heart
from a brand new start.
There was just sadness,
I could not mend.
In your empty shell,
hollow echoes, bells;
you the bell ringer
hanging on to hope,
your song in decline,
fades.
