The long and winding path.

The long and winding path.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The long and winding path.
There were many roads
to choose from
on one's travels,
the high road,
the low road,
the back road,
but I wanted
something different.
so I took the path;
never looked back.

Well done. You never hear of roads taking you to the princesses castle. She's always up a path somewhere.

belated thanks Paul
and found it didn't wind as much as i thought it would...

the harder paths get easier at times...when we least expect it...i really like this Frost-ian flavored piece.

The contrast between the LONG path and the short poem is very effective. Should you not have put 'winding' in the second to last line? Good poem.
