The offering was free.

The offering was free.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Of course
the poison chalice
was free in its
offering of pure malice.
to be consumed
to those intended
or by the curious
stopping by.

it all seems so good at first and then the great harm begins. Not your poem itself of coarse, it was good all the way. very nice.

oooh i really like this...lots of religious questions raised...and me being a Catholic boy...
that chalice...drunk from...by some who are so hypocritical...like it is all a facade...
look at me...i am saved...but their actions are opposite outside of the service...there is pure malice...

Had the feel of a Greek revenge tale my friend. Poison chalice. Leave us in a dead-end. Very nice use of words my friend. Thank you Andrew for sharing the amazing poetry.
