The state of affairs.

The state of affairs.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The state of the heart
governed by the mind
to serve and protect,
failed;
burgled, ransacked,
my heart was stolen.

The culprit wanted;
female, smooth long legs,
blue eyes, blonde hair,
a smile to die for,
and a mind to match,
conniving
in any one exchange
of charismatic conversation.

Please return to owner,
heart requires special needs
needing lots of love
on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, the state of lust
requires your urgent attention
awaiting your response,
yet to be decided,
armed and ready
for your disposal.
Please hurry!

What a powerful poem about losing a lover! Packs a punch and written with such urgency! Very smooth and well-written.
