The present.

There was no time
like the present
until he opened it,
now he wishes
for yesterday.

Ah, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride and all of our past and our future collide. :))
Five wonderfully observed lines.

This one is like a cocktail of today, tomorrow and yesterday all mixed up into a new tense...:)
I also detect a tinge of regret.....expectations that were shattered.....hopes which turned sour.
Brilliant expression...:)
