On your tumbling steps I climbed.

On your tumbling steps I climbed.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

On the stairway
bound for you,
steep in ascent,
I reached your summit,
somewhat imposing.
Disturbingly, I found
there were only
two ways down,
the exits were placed:
A bannister to escape
on one's terms quickly,
or be discarded, pushed
in an unwanted manner,
while being watched
in the fall.
Your view was exquisite,
I stepped away from your staircase
waiting....
