The spiral staircase of internal reflections.

The spiral staircase of internal reflections.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

During the vertigo falling
spiraling down the
avenues of space
through the corridors of time
I was left intact
still standing
in another world.
I saw you
reflecting,
your beauty personified
I had become your mirror.
Your prince for eternity
but on you not knowing
I relied on you
not breaking the glass
damming me
forever broken
in my shards.

This poem is a Metaphysical, fantasy-scape write with lyrical, eloquent words and metaphoric images. Great spiraling down dynamic and other-worldly fall through the looking glass. “ I had become your mirror. Your prince for eternity” as long as....ay, there’s the rub! Brilliant.

Thank you so much Annette for a generous review
this is one of my favorites from you---

hauntingly beautiful..makes me think of The Uninvited...the old Ray Milland flick..in which he is in love with a girl named Stella who is haunted by ghosts at Windward House...

Thank you Jacob for your kind words.
I feel the love and its vulnerability or dependency that will keep the other side intact or broken to pieces. Very romantic and expressive, sir Andrew.
