Loyalty was admirable once!

Loyalty was admirable once!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the old days
loyalty always pays....
these days work
just pays!

Until your welcome has
over extended it’s usefulness.

Morning squire, pays- payed..perhaps
Aye, you have to make yourself indispensable otherwise the next best thing will be stepping into your shoes.
I'm lucky at present as was sought out by the company to work for them but I suppose that could change in a heartbeat.
Hope you are well young fella and are shining your balls in readiness for the tests to come.

Agreed, there used to be more of a mutual purpose in the interactions of two people across the adult world, now it's more self-gain. I really like the last line.

So very true, Andrew!

The days of the handshake agreement and loyalty are dead and buried. You see it in business and Sports contract negotiations every day. And more and more often we are seeing loyal workers being thrown aside when they are deemed to have outlived their usefulness.

So, this is a potently relevant write. Biting and full of realism. Very well conceived.
