Put on a happy face.

Put on a happy face.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Put on a happy face
put on a smile
cover your darkness,
may take awhile.

Put on that happy face
draw on that smile
I hear your laughter
that chokes on bile.

Do away the happy face
and throw away your smile
let me see that snarliness
in your manner that’s vile.

Oh my goodness, seems like this poem is about masks and those who see through them. Good write, powerful words!
