Conflicting emotions.

Conflicting emotions.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Does man need religion
or does religion need man?

Maybe,Christian mythology
is more true to form
like Greek mythology?

Makes one wonder
if Father Christmas
was started by the same writer?

Should a church be wealthy?
Should a church be poor?
Should a church give back
what monies have been taken?

Why does the church hide
evil behind closed doors
while masquerading as do good-ers
the saviours of all
except some children.

One wonders of the real intentions
of the church....
a place of worship,
or a place to abuse?

Nice to see Archbishops guilty of child abuse resign from their posts around the world.

I have often thought that some of the people who are regular church goers do not reflect the true nature of Jesus Christ. I know far more people who don't go to church that are full of love and compassion for their neighbours. Interesting words Andrew.

Hi Chris Thanks for commenting.
very poignant. churches and religion are man-made and sadly we know what motivates men sometimes. sharp, stinging write on point. this snapped my head back andrew ... :)

Thank you Pete indeed they are man made
It's probably a good thing that increasing numbers of people these days know better than to believe that going to church makes you a Christian. Where Father Christmas came from is also becoming increasingly better known, particularly in relation to his unbiblical roots.
Amen.
