In the shadows of the mind

In the shadows of the mind

A Poem by andrew mitchell

What lies in the background of the mind
but the wrong side of black
of footprints that stop....
that once lead to memories
where the walls move,
light chasing shadows
as thoughts creak on floors
echoing dead moments.

“The background of the mind” is a subterranean world of light and dark, as your poem eloquently describes....great metaphor and personification-“thoughts creak on floors echoing dead moments”-yes. We flawed mortals have always to watch our footing when traveling there. Excellent write Andrew.
