Within the walls of mind, freedom to choose.

Within the walls of mind, freedom to choose.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There were no bars,
no prison walls
living in societies cage
where freedom to live
came from within.

It's harder to free oneself from the mental barriers than the physical ones and those of the society - you're bound as long as you think you're bound. I agree, maybe it's all in the head.
Nice, thought provoking (my kind of) write :D

Thank you Doc:)
This is a very profound poem, which says so much in the five short lines. I think many of us feel 'caged ' in our society. People can feel very lonely behind four walls, even if there are so many others around. But, you are so right when you say 'freedom to live, came from within'. Not only has your poem got personal significance, but there is also a Universal meaning there. And many say that you are more in touch with the outer Universe, when you go within your own mind. Very clerverly done, Andrew.
