The pyramid of scorn speaks as the tunnel of truth collapses.

The pyramid of scorn speaks as the tunnel of truth collapses.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There was always
two sides to the story,
but what if....
a third story evolves?

Does a light emerge
from two shadows
ready to speak?

Does the truth lie
at the end of the tunnel,
or is it no more
a ghost train travelled
having haunted memories?

Will the truth be dug
pushing away the lies
in the dig searching
deep for answers?

Covered in sand
hides the truth ready
for discovery
to be beached
from an ocean of fish
spreading the lies
while the sun peeks
from behind the pyramids
of delusion smiling.

This is so deep, Andrew! You must have been heavily caffeinated when writing this one!

Truth and lies are at the heart of its core; there always are two sides to every story and most often the side of scorn tends to win out with its sheer cunning. But yes, what if there was a third side? Neither right nor wrong but one of absolute truth and wisdom? Such a side would be the most valuable in any debate or argument.

Some wonderful thoughts expressed in this one, infused with some excellent metaphors and an historical touch to boot. This could be interpreted in many different ways, methinks. Perhaps revisit the title spelling on 'Pyramid' though. Finger slipped typo.

A very original write. Certainly had me thinking deeply with this one. Excellent work.

No kidding, you’re an experimental author... philosophy with a splash of archeology, or vice versa, if you choose to see it that way. :):)

Love the idea of the truth being locked away in history, far beyond the pyramids. The fish as purveyors of lies give this write its surreal, dreamlike quality. If this were my dream, for instance, I could see myself telling a friend or two about the different elements, making an entire table of people laugh at the bizarre nature of fish as angels of untruth. :):)

An original, intelligent write that speaks wisdom while making the reader smile.
