At the gates of the Colosseum.

At the gates of the Colosseum.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

At the gates of the colosseum
waiting for the call of entry
two lions were ready.

Oh God! Don’t you just love the crowds,
the atmosphere, the deafening noise,
and the smell of fear.
Oh Yes! Not forgetting eating the slaves too
although they are a bit skinny!
Yes! A bit bony, very lean!
The gates are up! We’re on!
Let’s get em!
After you!
No! You!
Oh thank you!
