The uncanny ability to be someone else!

The uncanny ability to be someone else!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The reflection
from your eye
showed myself
black and white,
and yet I was in
full colour.

I concurred that
the image was not mine,
whether it be my aura
watching over me,
or my doppelganger
close at hand to haunt.

 But never the less
the tap on my shoulder
did throw me, somewhat strange
when I turned around a woman spoke.
" Oh darling you were brilliant last night.
   You must be exhausted."

" And who might that be,"
asked my other half through
clenched teeth as the woman
walked away.

Her guess was as good as mine.
I replied. "It was my doppelganger's girlfriend."

in V1&2 i started to think about how others see others as something and are convinced they are correct ... when actually they are seeing what they need one to be ... but V3 turned me another direction ... and i started to smile .. and in your closing i says to me self "huh!" ... reflections drained of color and life ... mirror images of women and a speaker that seems to have 3 perspectives ....true Andy style says i .. my doppleganger and his girl are always twitting about with surprises ... and hauntings for me ... kind of sexy and spooky at the same time ... your poem grabbed me mind no doubt sir!
