The mandible massacre at ladybird lake.

The mandible massacre at ladybird lake.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

As the symphony
of insect music
increased,
legs rubbing,
wings fluttering,
eyes bulging,
one little mechanical monster
wearing his ecto skeleton
all black and shiny shouted.
“Would you all just shut up!”
“ I’m trying to communicate
with my girl friend via antenna linkup!”
“Just shut up!”
But the music played on.

In the news today
an ant flipped in rage,
forty nine orchestral insects dead
in what survivors describe
as a mandible massacre.
Soldier ants are guarding the accused.

take no prisoners ... extrapolated to events occurring these days it takes on a somber voice ..but on the surface as always gives me a chuckle ... sometimes the forests and lakes can be raucous ..and the otherwise blissful enjoyment of "nature" is so rudely put upon itself by the damn singing ;) oh well ... i just pack up my "moment" carry it inside and put it in my false memory bin ... which is loaded with peace, love and tranquility :))))))))))))))

lol thank you Einstein for the smile and for the informative review. lol Thanks Man!!!:):):)
On the surface this seems like a cross between Moody Blues from the sixties and Burl Ives. Underneath that there is a lot more to this piece of apparent whimsy. Excellent.

Well, universal laws apply elsewhere nowadays :) With all the cacophony and noise bombardment of modern living, to what lengths we wouldn’t go for some solitude. I’m not surprised the little insect reacted like a monster. Now put put humans in its place, gets scarier.
