Ego-nomics!

Ego-nomics!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The ego-nomics of self worth
had to be inflated to survive.
Management at work
made sure the ego
remained crushed.
At home the wifey
kept the ego controlled
although when not looking
it became somewhat inflated,
but like all things
in the offerings of life
the ego did get punctured.
In order to compensate
for this dilemma
of feeling flat,
one should always
carry a spare ego.
Just slip it in
your purse or wallet,
it’s just pure ego-nomics really!
However, when two egos get together,
things get rather tricky
as two egos go head to head,
it becomes entirely messy,
and invariably only one
will become victor.
The loser sails off into the horizon
in search of bullying some other ego lost
in the wilderness of self worth.
Again I stress,
it’s all about ego-nomics.

Next week on BBC documentaries
I bring you sex-o-nomics!
