Forget four eyes!

Forget four eyes!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

All eyes were on two eyes
when she entered the room,
and how " all eyes"
followed her every move.

Yep! Apart from being an eyeful,
not one blinked in a room
now hushed.

One could hear the comments
from "all eyes":

" She has eyes to die for!"
" I only have eyes for her!"
" She's the apple of my eye!"

Of course, there were always those
with angry eyes that carried the daggers.
Anyway, watching her two eyes wander,
I caught her attention.
Locked, we eyed each other in silence.

The acknowledgement of eye brows lifting,
eyes smiling, a flirtatious wink
had four eyes dilating.

Then she moved,
breaking contact,
it was the chap behind me.

Turned out,
they were just two eyes.
