We are more than just vegetables you know!A Poem by andrew mitchell
When we were young
in our prime, we were taken from Mother. Ripped and torn from our moorings so to speak. We were then washed and placed in cold storage, some of my closest friends were frozen like peas and corn. We were then chosen at random, washed again then sliced, diced, some grated, only to be steamed and finally eaten. How barbaric! Such cruelty I tell you! Terrible business! And it’s happening all over the world! We are all doomed! Murderers I tell you! Just plain and simple murders! Vegans! Killers just like everyone else! AND did you know, our off bits, those unwanted parts of us are fed to the cows! No way! Yep! Told by a now deceased friend of mine. Terrible business! Don’t they know we have feelings? Some folk do talk to us in our final moments growing up. So where are you going tonight? Oh! I’ve been placed into some Beef and wine casserole with my friends amongst some herb dumplings. Oh! That sounds tasty! What about you carrot? Well, corn kernels and I are going into a Tuna Mornay with mashed Potato. Yummy! Poor potato though! Yes! Terrible drama! © 2019 andrew mitchellReviews
