If it wasn’t Cupid, it was Stupid!

If it wasn’t Cupid, it was Stupid!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

He who played
the arrow
shot the heart
that made the bond,
but who wore the barb
that poisoned the love?
ABC!

The climate change
of Romeo and Juliet
where only a highway man
could see the stage
of errors played
with dire consequences
along telegraph road.

And then there was
the Doors opening:
the End,
the final overture
from in the beginning
by ELP.

One cannot hide
from a scribble
but to tag along
following the trail.

Even before fully engaged in reading, I glance down & notice "ELP" . . . then I was hopelessly riveted on seeking out your musical clues. ABC - new to me. Here, Highwaymen = Willie, Waylon, Kris, & Johnny Cash. It goes on. Pardon my being anal & pretty much missing your message, but the musical memories were irresistible *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

this one fascinates me...bonds, errors, final overture, life...
we poets scribble about it...we can't hide....and it is a trail that we follow more than forge.
