The search for a belief!

The search for a belief!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

He was not a bad man
and he spent his life
wandering the globe
in search of answers,
he had a mind full
of questions.
His dilemma was two fold;
what if there is no God?
what if there was?
There was no tangible evidence
to suggest there was.
Through words of mouth
he was just told
there is a God.
He found that man
wrote the Bible
and it was only man
that said there was a God.
So was God man made?
Can one believe the word of man
for man does lie?
It seemed all based on one man
telling another man,
telling another man
and so on.
His search took him far and wide
to all corners of the world,
he could only find evidence
of the evolution of man
but no evidence of God.
His questions caused outrage
by those who believed
but they had no rational evidence,
he was labelled blasphemous ,
and killed him
to keep the image of God alive.

Hundreds of years later,
no word from God,
no one has seen God
but wars continue
in the name of God.
So many Gods
if there is a God.

It was too bad
he wasn’t a bad man,
it would make more sense;
his son wanders the world now
on a belief that may be
not all is true,
but like through all
the passages of time
It’s just man talking.

i do believe there is a higher power, that there is a God....but not necessarily what man wants him to be or makes him out to be...i don't think man should go there, i think he also should not keep saying he is doing things in the name of God...he has no idea if God would sanction most of what he does...
