Across the heavens down the mine!

Across the heavens down the mine!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Lightning strikes the temporal mind
thoughts carried on wind’s breath
grazing on time passing
against the back drop blue
an ocean of sunshine
clinging to clouds day dreaming
my footsteps are heard far away
while the heart warms to campfire cracklings.

In the twilight of a weathered mind
memories wash upon mind’s shores
the crash of waves thunder felt
headlights shine across the horizon
in the darkness of space
silence moves in mysterious ways
shadows bathe on enlightened rain
slumber time’s getting louder
one hears the turn of a new page.

reading a book of our memories before falling asleep....like a good story at the bonfire...the flames crackle as the reminiscing remains the tinder of tender memories..
