Those lunar thoughts in the art of poise.

Those lunar thoughts in the art of poise.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Memories that sit
on a armchair balanced
are never too far away,
watching the skies
of tomorrow's past,
and yesterday's that had
new beginnings.

Today is lost
in the lunar sea
of starless skies
in search of clouds
holding the answers,
grazing in the grass
are thoughts hiding
in the mind's wilderness
looking back on reflection.

dear Andrew... sometimes ... we need to just sit with our arms comfortable in an armchair that is
steady and true... let the world go slowly by... and never wonder why... I cannot be content to think or read a book.. perchance to dream... Your poem as inspired me to practice being quiet and content to enjoy my own thoughts... and not worry about others thoughts. And when I get up to leave my public seat... I may
have become a better person than the one I used to be. truly, Pat

Thank you Pat, I like that too, to drift on a thought or daydream has its own magic.

i really like the vast nature imagery in the second stanza, the idea of the "lunar sea" is extremely atmospheric!
