Life on the road.

Life on the road.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In life we were all given a road.
The rich had the high road,
a picture of class,
the poor had the low road
and of course, there was
always the middle road.

From those the less unfortunate
were given a short road,
a no through road,
a road not sealed with a sign
merge into the background....disappear!
The rich had private roads, a cul de sac,
keep out, trespassers will be prosecuted.

But for most us  we were given a road,
a sealed road where some veered off
never to be seen again where
there was always talk of road kill,
while many got lost
on the highway of love.

As for me, I was given a track
and I'm still on track
even though the sign is blurred.
