A wounded heart leaves an abscessed thought.

A wounded heart leaves an abscessed thought.

A Poem by andrew mitchell
"

dark scribbles going no where!

"
Shipwrecked on the shores
of your barb wire fenced heart
only I was bleeding,
caught in your loveless trap,
entangled you severed all wired connections;
I was cast adrift.

You ransacked my mind
leaving a scattered trail
of littered promises broken;
but by picking up the pieces
of my tethered thoughts
I still find you creeping
like a bad debt
that I cannot pay.

A broken heart,
a salvaged mind,
I'm now classified
as trash or treasure.

Thank you Julie
i always felt adrift and in a bad debt when left by an ex...never thought i was much of a treasure...and classified myself as being the next Johnny Carson...three wives, three mistakes...lots of poems.
