The police report!

The police report!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

We don’t know
who fired the first word
but judging by
the bullet’s entry
we know who
fired the first shot.
However we don’t
have the gun as yet,
and is subject to
further enquires
when we find it.
We are still looking
for an open mouth
who fired the first word.

I love the concept of a "smoking gun" being someone's mouth, someone who fired off some deadly words. Our current state of public discourse begs this question -- where will the line be drawn, as far as what words constitute incitement? (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
