It's spiritual election time!

It's spiritual election time!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

It's election time
and a new God will be elected
to rule the universe.

Amongst the psychological,
psychedelic, sociological
spiritual shamanism
there is a God,
and angels are giving out
how to vote cards.

In the election of a New God
which is the Old God in disguise
but just revised.

Votes are coming in now!
The Biblical All Stars are polling
very well.
God's left wing
not so well
while the right wing
appears to be storming through.
Buddha is doing favourably
but the Catholic God
not at all....( a pause in remembrance )
due to a long line
of abuse on its followers.
Hence the Methodist God
is picking up in the ballot,
looking good.

It's quite a spectacle
everyone dressed in shining, wondrous white.
I wonder what laundry powder they use?
Looks like its a close call everybody.
Who will be elected as the New God
to carry on the belief legacy?

Apologies from the Sun God who
could not attend due to its
highly regarded position, sky high.
The blasphemous group
was disqualified and the Atheists
were not allowed to attend
because it was Gods only.

There you have it!
Stay tuned for more
bombastic hilarity
in the future.

Great poem with humourus touch. Some scientists may be opposing gods of the world. I want to favour demons instead of God's as demon's understand emotions more than God's

Thank you Arundass for your words.
You know, dag nab bit... its gonna be the monetary god he always fixes the elections and wears the best clothes:) Why don't they sell heavenly white soap powder absolution in a box would be a great ad slogan I would buy it... "how many people did you sacrifice for your ego today? look no further my friend... heavenly whites got your back and rinses away all of your stains!" I wonder why they didn't send Bad Bunny a ballot? Rodents deserve a vote too.... LOL

lol thank you belatedly for your thoughts.
this is so clever...where do we humble poets vote?
i'm not sure it matters because i don't think i am registered...
i like "the belief legacy"---reminds me of how Emily used to see her friends as needing that crutch of religion...belief in something, that belief she did not share.
maybe she saw the "bombastic hilarity"---
