The dealings of decay.

The dealings of decay.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The death of today
lies in decay
as tomorrow sings
of songs so grim.
The march of tombstones
comes this way
leaving a trail
from yesterday’s.
Seek not
the questions you ask,
I will ask
I will protect you
for the angel of death
may not repent
while life may come
so does drought
for as far as
the eyes can see
the wind blows
of howling souls
lost in death’s wilderness
crying for a second chance.
