What was the motive behind the mirror?

What was the motive behind the mirror?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I saw you
in my reflection
I waved, you waved
I said goodbye
you said goodbye
we were as one
I thought
until you stepped
onto the road
in front of a bus.
I realised then
we weren’t the same.
I always told you
look right then left
then right again.
I saw you in my reflection
we had become two
in the shadow world.

Sparely put and somber. We really do live in a world where nothing is guaranteed.

Thank you belatedly John. Sorry for the delay. Yes life can be just that unexpectedly short.
