Mind ramblings is an apt title for this piece, for it comes across as a stream of consciousness type of musing on a variety of topics. Some sound like physics, such as the opening lines. Others sound like snatches of partially remembered dreams, while the line about mother earth basting could come out of today's headlines about climate change. The final lines are enigmatic. All of it is delivered in a spare, rapidly paced manner. Very interesting work here.
Indeed a montage Andrew. This has serious undertones with the planet and its survival questioned by the actions of us humans. Thought provoking free association!
okay just how many Andrews are in that head of yours LOL at no time can I ever tag your voice LOL I should learn not to expect anything when I read you but just pretend its the first time that I read you every time and then I wouldn't be staring at the headlights anymore:) Life is indeed imperiled Andrew we are all seeing it some of us face it others buy chocolate bars. this is a fantastic write

Andrew, this poem reminds the reader he is but a speck in this universe and time, heading unwittingly into a black hole of not only emptiness but nothingness, where our individual lives, efforts, artifacts, etc. don't influence anything. We're mere matter that really doesn't matter. Sad but true, and more depth than the mind wants to accept.

THanks Robert, yes we are all that just that, specks of no significance.
hmmmmmmmm poetically/ intellectually/spiritually inspiring ... love the inclusion of Science in your meandering, Andrew ... there is a lot that I like about this one sir ...the paths of dark and light we all come to know so well in our lives ... its never a clear case until one chooses firmly eh!? the universe is so clearly on a path of no return ... things are humming and buzzing and changing in an eternal instant ..your closing for me is the cat's meow sir! thanks for sharing this rather introspective side of you .. i just knew it was in there somewhere ;)))))))))))

Sorry Gene for the belated thank you. Bug issues with this site and so many ads.
Dilated pupils look through
eye sockets empty.
Atoms of life
watch the eclipse
electrons look on encircling.
Speaks to that feeling that one is watching not just with the eyes but with more expansive senses but we are only somewhat aware of the bigger picture. Loved this:)
