A beetle crosses Abbey road not knowing.

A beetle crosses Abbey road not knowing.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The past and today
comes together
but only in a moment
as a memory sheds light...

a caterpillar
metamorphoses
into a butterfly...

knowing today
would fly away
into tomorrow

not knowing
the flower lies
opened ahead.

Oh my ... love that wisdom wrapped in a metaphor. I am so jealous of this, Andrew. So jealous, Bravo:)

Thank you very much Pryde
Mysteries and moments gently caught in a quiet philosophical way.. Treasure enough to magic into thirteen special reminders of how life spreads its meanings. Meanings deep and delightful, memorable. Wonderful, Andrew.

You're welcome, andrew. Abbey road is/was part of the magical mystery tour, too... wasn't it?! Memor.. read more

Great album, up in the charts again. Hence my title but with an insect crossing the road. Lol
"and Yesterday....all my troubles seemed so far away"
but today there are only reminders...the caterpillar's shed skin,
the butterfly caught in the bloom of life....
soon to be a memory himself...
life's ephemeral moments...last only as long as that bloom...we have to fly while we can.

Thank you Jacob.
Certainties and uncertainties … the past and the future … one easily viewed, the other not so much. We can morph from the caterpillar … who probably has a mysterious grin … into a butterfly heading into the future not knowing what lies ahead , but perhaps with an understanding that there are possibilities waiting.
We have crossed those zebra stripes … here comes the sun.
Allegorically and wonderfully expressed, Andrew, well done.
