Fear is not the key!

Fear is not the key!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Fear not
the hello
for goodbye
will surely follow.
But fear the love
for the flower
will dwindle
as decay
becomes of us.
Fear not
the sound
that makes
you peek -
it will only
alarm you.
But fear
the wolf
who holds
you down and
rips off
your gown.
Fear not
the feet
that creak
the stairs
for its
only to
scare you.
But fear
the ocean
that will
engulf you
as her waves
slowly caress.
Fear not
the haunted
but carry on
undaunted
those ethereal beings
will pass
straight through you.
Accept the unknown
the unknown lives.

it probably makes little sense to fear the unknown....even the known...we might be careful, might be wary in life...but we still need to move...this reminds me of "Hound" by Robert Francis....about how life is equivocal...like a hound running at us...we don't know whether we will be rended or befriended...
excellent piece,
j.
