On the trails of memories ruins.

On the trails of memories ruins.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Where my mind treads
Romans have walked before me
on cobblestone roads aligned,
but now the Celts
have invaded my thoughts
across grey stone fields
of the middle highlands.
United I am
in a kingdom
steeped in tradition
divided by change,
the combination forms
the alchemist in me.
I'm transformed
but not religious
I am Great Britain
a castle in ruins
and the beef steak pudding
is cooking on the oven.

An interesting take on the mother-country's demise as a great influence in the world . . . "a castle in ruin." Indeed GB is as divided as the US. Don't know much about Aussie-land . . . but I'm sure you've your own set of woes.

I think its a mess everywhere!
I really love this and it is true that ruins can represent metaphors and metaphors can represent fallen kingdoms and kingdoms waiting to be born.
